What is wrong with my Peace Lily?
I water it, and the water just comes straight out the bottom. Even a 1/2 cup of water for this 9" containter will filter straight through. The water stays in the tray, but over the next couple of days is absorbed into the plant. This all happened after a couple of days of over-watering from trying to get those stupid "Aqua-Globes" to work, which i promptly returned to the store. What can i do to get this to stop happening? Is my plant dying? Do i need to repot it?
it needs to be re-potted, peace lilies can take over a pot with the root system, and with more roots then soil ,the water cannot be absorbed into the soil, time to repot ,with sterile soil from a nursery or large home store.if your brave you can even slice it in half (going down not across and have 2 peace lilies.when your plant is really dry like it was, dont try to bombard it with water, the best trick i found,s is ice cubes on the surface so it slowly absorbs into the soil. try this before transplanting so it doesnt go into shock..

I think your plant has just gotten too dry. When the soil in a potted plant gets to dry it wont hold the water and the water just goes out the bottom. Go ahead and fill up the saucer and let the plant pick the water up as it needs it. When the saucer gets dry refill it. Repeat until he water doesn’t flow right out the bottom.

George is right. The soil volume shrinks when it gets very dry. This causes a gap between the soil and your pot. The water will run right through.

No need to repot unless you see roots through the drain holes.
Your soil has compacted, you’ll probably notice it has come away from the sides of the pot. Aerate - poke holes in the soil then water. Peace lily does Not like wet feet, don’t recommend letting it sit in water in the tray.
